Floridays from above โ€” green stilt home with private heated pool

North Captiva Island ยท Steps to the Gulf

Hello,
Floridays.

Your North Captiva home base โ€” heated pool, private spa, two golf carts, and the Gulf three houses away.

4Bedrooms
4En-Suite Baths
12Sleeps
2Golf Carts
โˆžHeated Pool & Spa

Three houses from the Gulf. Your own heated pool & spa. Two carts waiting in the drive.

Floridays is the North Captiva house guests come back to โ€” the one where mornings start with coffee on the deck, afternoons belong to the pool, and sunsets happen barefoot on the sand a two-minute walk away.

Gulf sunset

Built for being together โ€”
without being on top of each other.

Floridays sleeps 12 across 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, with a layout designed for families and friend groups. The main living level opens to a screened deck overlooking the pool. The top-floor crow's nest catches the Gulf breeze. Two master suites mean no one's drawing straws for the good bed.

Four bedrooms.
Four characters.

Every room has its own name, its own bath, and its own way of making you feel like you chose the right one. (There's no wrong one.)

What you came for โ€”
and a few things you didn't
know to ask about.

North Captiva isn't a "do nothing" island. It's a "you'll wish you had another week" island. Here's what's worth your time.

Fishing

World-class Southwest Florida fishing

Snook, redfish, tarpon, sea trout, grouper, snapper, and pompano โ€” right off the beach, in the passes, or out in the Gulf. Surfcast at sunrise, drop a line at sunset, or charter a guide for a full day of inshore action with Captain Alex Fischer (mention Tortuga for a special rate).

On the Water

Boating with dolphins & manatees

Pine Island Sound is one of the richest wildlife habitats in Florida. Pods of dolphins are a near-daily sight, manatees graze in the shallows, and ospreys patrol overhead. Rent a boat from Boats & Fun on the island โ€” no slip required, and they'll set you up with everything from skiffs to pontoons.

Day Trips

Island hopping

Floridays is your launchpad to some of Florida's best day trips: Cabbage Key (the bar with all the dollar bills, where Jimmy Buffett is rumored to have written "Cheeseburger in Paradise"), wild and untouched Cayo Costa, the shops and restaurants of Captiva and Sanibel, and Old Florida charm at Boca Grande.

The Best Free Activity

Golf cart tours of the island

Genuinely one of the best things to do here. Grab one of the carts, pour something cold in a tumbler, and just drive. Every street is its own gallery of weird, wonderful island houses โ€” pastel beach cottages, modern stilt homes, the occasional pink one. Go slow. Wave at everyone. Find your favorite house and decide which one you'd buy.

Beachcombing on North Captiva
Just the Beach

World-class shelling & sunsets

The Gulf side is famous for its shells โ€” bring a bag, you'll fill it. The beaches are wide, quiet, and uncrowded (a luxury most of Florida lost decades ago). Sunset is the daily event: pack a beach chair, a cold drink, and watch the sky perform.

For the Adventurous

The State Nature Preserve

Almost two-thirds of Upper Captiva is dedicated state preserve โ€” a genuinely rare thing in modern Florida. The trails start at the corner of Panama Shell Drive and Rum Road and zig-zag down to the southernmost point of the island. It's about an hour-and-twenty walk one way, and along it you'll see everything from gopher tortoises and ospreys to nesting sea turtles in season, plus shelling spots most visitors never find.

Bring water, closed-toed shoes, bug spray, and start early. Worth every step.

North Captiva ยท Island Life

"If you want to stay in paradise,
this is the place!!!"

โ€” Angela K.

Guest Notes

"Was our first trip to North Captiva but not our last!!"

"This home was perfect for our 10-family-member annual spring trip. The inside was beautiful and comfortable. Our 8-year-old grand loved the coloring supplies lol. The kitchen well stocked and user-friendly. Loved the screened porch and upstairs deck โ€” we enjoyed morning coffee on both! The pool was used every day and well maintained. Our big family had plenty of room to play games and just be on island time!"

โ€” Carla B. ยท 7 nights, March 2026

"Amazing Experience"

"We had an absolutely amazing experience at this property! The house was spotless and beautifully maintained โ€” truly felt like a home away from home. There were tons of games for all, which kept everyone entertained the entire stay. Highly recommend this place for families or groups looking to relax and have fun. We can't wait to come back."

"Epic Family Vacation"

"If you want to stay in paradise, this is the place!!! Private heated pool, 2 golf carts, hammock, ping pong, and each bedroom has an en-suite! The island is golf-cart-only and not crowded. The food is AMAZING. We go on about 3 family trips a year and this was by far our favorite!"

Before you ask โ€”
you're not the first.

North Captiva is different. Here's what most first-time guests want to know.

How do we actually get to the island?

Fly into Fort Myers (RSW, 36 miles) or Punta Gorda (PGD, 40 miles). Take a shuttle or drive to Pineland Marina on Pine Island, then catch the Island Girl ferry (or Emmy Girl) about 20 minutes across to Mainstay (formerly Barnacles Dock). Our property managers at Tortuga Properties meet you at the dock, help with your luggage, and escort you to the house. We'll send a full arrival packet with ferry info once you book.

Is there a car? How do we get around?

There are no cars on North Captiva. Floridays includes two golf carts โ€” a 4-seater and a 6-seat limo โ€” how everyone on the island gets around. The house is a two-minute walk to the beach, and you can cart to anywhere else on the island in under 10 minutes. All drivers must be 18+ with a valid driver's license.

Where do we get groceries?

There is no grocery store on North Captiva โ€” just a small general store. But our property managers at Tortuga Properties run a first-rate grocery service: they pick up your shopped order on the mainland, boat it over, and stock everything in your kitchen before you arrive. You can order via the Dumpling app or send Tortuga a written list. Liquor and fresh seafood can also be delivered daily. We'll send all the details in the welcome packet once you book.

Are the pool and spa heated?

Yes โ€” both. Heat runs year-round, so swimming is on the table in any season.

What's included in the rental?

Linens, towels, fully stocked kitchen, Wi-Fi, smart TVs, washer/dryer, gas grill, both golf carts, beach chairs and umbrellas, coolers, pool and deck furniture, and starter supplies (paper goods, soaps, beach towels).

Can we bring pets?

No pets, please โ€” strict no-pet policy. We love animals but Floridays is a no-pet home for guest allergy reasons.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellations more than 90 days prior to check-in: 100% of rental payments refundable, less any applicable platform or credit-card processing fees. Cancellations less than 90 days prior to check-in: rents and deposits forfeited. We strongly recommend travel insurance โ€” the full rental agreement details are sent with every booking.

Why book direct instead of through VRBO?

You skip the platform service fees. The flow is simple: check our calendar on VRBO to see what's open, then email us for your direct rate. We send you the same rental agreement, take payment directly, and you get the same house, same Tortuga Properties on-island team, and a direct line to us for any questions.
